About MVSD
A committee. A neighbourhood. A ritual.
The Maruti Vihar Sarbojanin Durgotsab Committee — MVSD — was founded in 1991 by a handful of Bengali families who had recently made Gurugram their home. In a township that was still finding its rhythm, they carved out a corner of the community centre and welcomed Maa Durga for the first time.
Thirty-five autumns later, the puja has grown into a five-day celebration of ritual, music, food, and neighbourhood. Our pandal draws thousands of devotees every evening. Our bhog kitchen serves over a thousand plates a day. Our cultural stage has hosted Bangla bands, classical vocalists, playback singers, and every generation of local talent between.
Everything you see is built and run by volunteers — from the alpona at the door to the arati at dusk. If you'd like to lend a hand, cook, sing, sponsor, or simply come and sit with us for a while, you're already family.
